IIT/JEE 2011 Solutions/ Answers Key / Scaned Copy of Your Answer Sheet

1. IIT JEE will put out scanned copies of every student’s Answer Sheet

Each year, the joint entrance exam result buries the Indian Institutes of Technology under the Right To Information applications and legal cases. Lakhs of those who don’t make it to the IITs demand copies of their answer scripts, forcing the engineering colleges to usher in transparency.

For years, every RTI application was rejected, every court case favoured the IITs. For the first time now, the 2011 edition of the JEE will put out scanned copies of every student’s answer sheet. The exam will be held on Sunday and it will be taken by 4.85 lakh candidates , up from last year’s 4.72 lakh.

“Scanned images of the optical response sheets (ORS) with the candidates’ details and their responses will be displayed on the JEE website after May 25, 2011,” IIT-Kanpur‘s director Sanjay Dhande said.

2. IITs to put up correct IIT JEE 2011 Answers within 48 hours of the exam

Yeah you heard it right :-) No more running after IIT JEE Coaching Centres for the Answer Key with each one showing different answers leaving you confused. Now the official IIT JEE Answers will be given to you. So good news for you ;-)

3. You will know your actual Marks on the day of IIT JEE 2011 Results

Each student will also receive marks at the time of result declaration — irrespective of whether the student has qualified, he said. Only students who qualify receive marks at present, and that too much after the exam results are declared.

Together, these measures will for the first time allow reach student to evaluate his or her own performance and point out any problem in their marking by the IITs before the admission process is over and it is too late for corrective action. The reforms will also enable students who do not qualify to identify areas of weakness, and whether they are close enough to qualifying to appear for a second time next year.

Now you must be wondering what prompted IIT to make so many welcome changes
Actually, the IITs failed to explain the cut-offs they used for the JEE in 2006 till last year. They offered three explanations for the cut-offs — including on oath to the Calcutta high court —that they subsequently changed, once it was exposed that the explanations cited did not yield the cut-offs used. Close to 1,000 students suffered.

Errors worth several potentially decisive marks in question papers over subsequent years, and errors in last year’s Hindi question paper triggered criticism from Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and in Parliament.

Anyways with this piece of information, you can rest assured no injustice will be done to you Enough for today, head for the books now : IIT JEE 2011 is only a day away.
