After online tax payments facility , Axis Bank customers can now avail the benefit of paying their income tax and other direct taxes using the Axis Bank ATMs. This recently launched facility is currently available at select ATMs in major cities only, but will shortly be available at all 5600 plus Axis Bank ATMs across the country.
This facility will provide the tax payer the ease of making income tax payments 24X7 and will also help reducing paper handling of challans by bank. Tax payments made through ATMs will immediately be credited to Government accounts.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes, as part of its e-Governance initiative had earlier advised banks to roll-out the facility to pay tax using ATMs. Axis Bank is the first private sector bank to roll out this facility.
